How do I raise my metabolism and keep it up? Raising your metabolism is probably the most important thing you can do to lose weight. If you have a high metabolism you will burn fat even while you are sleeping! Imagine how great that would be right? I know you have seen a skinny guy or girl who eats like a total pig and never gains an ounce of fat right?

I have seen that guy too and it can become sickening after a while! This guy most likely has a metabolism thats sky high and is constantly burning away all that food he eats. That would be a great thing to have right? I think anyone would agree that it would be great to have a high metabolism so let’s go over some ways that you can raise yours!

- Eat small meals throughout the day! Eating small meals throughout the day actually helps to raise your metabolism because it starts the fat burning process. Its important though that you only eat small meals that are low in fat. So that means for breakfast you should have something like a bowl of oatmeal and perhaps a low fat yogurt.

- Build more muscle! Yes thats right, muscle actually helps to raise your metabolism and burn more fat. So I know if your a girl and reading this your wondering how much muscle you need to build to get the benefits. The truth is you do not need much muscle to help raise your metabolism. Any amount of muscle actually helps and you certainly do not need to develop a “muscular appearance” as a girl to do this.

- Run and walk more to get your metabolism up! You need to run at least 4 times a week to really get your metabolism higher. I suggest also that you do a slow and steady type of run instead of sprinting. A steady jog will do well in getting the results you need. For me it would really mean jogging at least 2 miles each running session, but you need to start off with less at first and work your way up.

Ok thats it! These are some simple and basic ways to raise your metabolism and keep it up! Good luck and remember to gradually work your way towards your weight loss goal and you will see that you can maintain it by taking this approach.
